Fully Financed Research Year within Parasitic Worms and Immunology
Are you interested in improving immune responses in worm-infected people?
We have obtained funding to explore how specific PRR agonists can overcome worm-induced immunological tolerance. In brief, blood samples will be obtained from worm-infected mice and used for ex vivo stimulation using a panel of PRR agonists, followed by an immunological assessment. The short-term aim is to identify agonists that can improve immune response in worm-infected individuals. The long-term aim is to use this knowledge to improve vaccine responses in the 1.5 million people infected with worms.
We are therefore looking for an ambitious and skilled medical student with a positive and collaborative mindset.
We are located at Skejby Hospital in Aarhus, where your daily work will take place.
Supervisors will be Professor Peter Nejsum and Assistant Professor Bradley Whitehead.
